Inner Peace
Be on the lookout for symptoms of inner peace! The hearts of many have already been exposed to "inner peace." It is possible that people everywhere could come down with it in epidemic proportions! It might also pose a serious threat to what, up until now, has been a fairly stable condition of conflict in the world.
Some signs and symptoms of inner peace:
* A tendency to think and act spontaneously rather than on fears based on past experiences.
* An unmistakable ability to enjoy each moment.
* A loss of interest in judging other people.
* A loss of interest in judging self.
* A loss of interest in interpreting the actions of others.
* A loss of interest in conflict!
* A loss of the ability to worry. (This is a very serious symptom.)
* Frequent, overwhelming episodes of appreciation.
* Contented feelings of connectedness with others and nature.
* Frequent attacks of smiling.
* An increasing tendency to let things happen rather than make them happen.
* An increased susceptibility to the love extended by others as well as the uncontrollable urge to extend it.
WARNING: If you have some or all of the above symptoms, please be advised that your condition of "inner peace" may be so far advanced as to not be curable. If you are exposed to anyone exhibiting any of these symptoms, remain exposed at your own risk!

Mahatma Ghandi and Mary Poppins
Ghandi walked every where he went which produced enormous calluses on his feet. He ate very little so he was very fragile. Also, his unusual diet caused him to suffer from bad breath, which is also known as hallitosis. So Ghandi could be accurately described as a "super calloused fragile mystic hexed by hallitosis."

"What do you have to do to become a doctor?" my six year old granddaughter once asked.
Her dad, seeing the opportunity, said, "You have to do extremely well in school, take a lot of math and science, get into an excellent college, make the highest grades possible, and then go to med school, and follow that with an internship. Staying Light-Hearted
It's been a long winter in the Northwest this year. We've had snow and snow and more snow! I don't know when I've ever been so happy to think about spring! I'm very ready to put away my boots and snow shovels and start planting my spring flowers! I'll bet you are, too!
The world economic news has also been a challenge to many of us. It's not always easy to stay light-hearted when everyone is talking about the depressing state of our world economy. But that's why we have this Light-Heartedness Newsletter, so we can stay in touch with each other and keep our spirits up.
I believe our world is in the middle of a huge transformation! We're letting go of our old ways of doing things and bringing in the new. As you may know, transformation is not always comfortable, but it's so worthwhile in the long run!
I'm starting to think we may actually live to see the day where our world issues are resolved peacefully and harmoniously, where people all over the world work together for the good of everyone. Isn't that an exciting thought?

Overcome StressWhen the World Economy Is in the Toilet
Everyone is being affected by the recent changes in our world economy. Many people are feeling stressed and worried about their future. If you're like everyone else, you may be wondering what you can do. As a psychotherapist, I'd say it's definitely a time to step back and do some soul searching to find your true values. It's also a good time to think of how you may want to reorganize your life.
For those of you who may feel stuck in a financial rut, I've put together 10 positive tips to overcome your stress. Whatever you do, be sure to have fun with them!
1. Clean up your finances! Realize your happiness is not dependent on having money or things. Don't buy anything you can't pay for today. Set a firm budget and find fun ways to create what you need with less money.
2. Learn emotional healing to release the everyday stress! Releasing the stress as it arises helps you handle the challenges that arise more easily and efficiently.
3. Focus on loving your family and friends! Spend time every day building positive relationships. Your relationships are more important now than they've ever been before!
4. Find inexpensive, creative ways to have fun! Take a walk, go to the park, have a picnic, play games with your family, laugh and be silly together!
5. Clean out your closets and have a garage sale! Those old forgotten things you don't need will be treasures to someone else.
6. Plant vegetable and flower seeds that will grow and bloom in the spring! Watching seeds grow and blossom gives you a living symbol of your own creative ability to grow and change.
7. Take a dance class and have fun moving to the music! Break out of your rut! Learning how to dance is sure to get you laughing and having fun.
8. Practice random acts of kindness! Have fun surprising people with your kindness, both strangers and friends!
9. Serve others who are less fortunate! Researchers are now finding that the happiest people in the world are those who serve others in some meaningful way. Meditate on what would be a meaningful service you could enjoy providing in your world.
10. Visualize a new world peace and prosperity, with people all over the world working together for the good of everyone! Say these words as a daily prayer: "May all beings be happy; may all beings have peace and prosperity!"
This is a very exciting time to be alive! It's very important that we all stay positive and playful and that we research creative, new ways to deal with our world issues. How we handle this important crisis in our lives may very well affect the future of many generations to come!

10 Spiritual Skills for Manifesting Prosperity in Your Life
What is Manifesting? The term 'manifest' simply means using your natural power and intention to bring your inner dreams into outer reality. We all manifest constantly, whether we are aware of it or not. Here's the secret:
Whatever we focus on becomes our reality. If we focus on our problems, we get more problems, but if we choose to focus on prosperity, we will begin to magnetize more prosperity into our lives.
What is Prosperity? Prosperity is having the very best that life has to offer you in every area of your life, from good self esteem, to work that you enjoy, to a beautiful home, a loving family, dear friends, laughter and fun, and money to do the things you enjoy.
How can I manifest more prosperity? That's the million-dollar question, isn't it? The good news is that there are simple skills you can use every day to create more prosperity in your life. If you take five to ten minutes a day to practice these skills, your prosperity will definitely begin to improve!
1. Acknowledge God as your Source. However you think of God, simply affirm that there is a Higher Power who wants you to be happy and successful.
2. Be sincerely thankful for the good you already have in your life. Take a moment to be grateful for all that you already have and all that you have received in your life.
3. Get clear about what you don't want. Make a list of the things you complain about. Get clear with yourself about what you don't want in your life for the future.
4. Decide what you do want. What would you like to have in your life to replace your current situation? Be very clear and very specific about what you do want!
5. Think of how your life would be better if you already had what you wanted. List all the wonderful benefits you would receive if you got what you wanted.
6. Imagine having what you want, as if it was already true right now! Utilize all your five senses. Hold the focus for at least 17 seconds, just basking in the sheer joy of already having exactly what you want.
7. Change your negative thoughts and beliefs to positive ones! Don't buy into the negative collective consciousness belief structure. Affirm that you are worthy of happiness and success and that the Higher Power can overcome anything!
8. Let God be in charge of manifesting your dreams! When you try to take control and do things your way, life feels like a struggle. But when you let the Higher Power take charge, it can manifest miracles that you could never do on your own!
9. Listen to your intuition, and follow it! You intuition is God's voice inside you telling you what you can do right now to begin bringing your dreams into reality.
10. Be grateful in advance for the answer to your prayers. Being grateful in advance helps you create an attitude of happiness and expectation that your good is on its way. Then you can relax and have fun, while allowing your good to arrive in ways you would have never dreamed possible before.

Movie/Book Review: The Secret
If you haven't already seen the movie "The Secret," I'd definitely recommend that you watch it. It's a very powerful movie about how we create our lives through the thoughts and beliefs that we hold in our minds.
"The Secret" is the Law of Attraction, which has been known and stylized by wise people for many centuries. The message in the movie is that you can change your life at any moment, by changing your thoughts and beliefs. The message is very similar to my article about manifesting prosperity, but it definitely helps to hear many different people saying it in many different ways.
My only issue with "The Secret" is that it doesn't teach you how to get in touch with your deepest feelings and beliefs to change them at a deep, unconscious level. That, however, is something that happens beautifully through emotional healing.
Emotional healing helps you get in touch with those deep feelings and beliefs to change what you want to change. Your deepest feelings and beliefs about yourself were often programmed into your mind through the negative experiences of your early life. When you really those clear out, your conscious and unconscious minds can begin to work together beautifully for your own good!

I have a question about 'releasing feelings.' What does that mean? I understand the recognition of the feelings. I understand staying with them and accepting that this is how I feel right now. I don't really understand the 'release' part. I have a hunch it is something like a process. What does it entail??

Thanks for your sweet e-mail! That's a very good question.
'Releasing' involves getting in touch with the deep, down feelings and expressing them however they need to be expressed. Sometimes releasing involves tears (crying or sobbing), and sometimes it's expressing hurt or anger (saying the things you were never able to say).
It helps to have someone there who honestly cares, but the feelings don't have to be expressed directly to the people who hurt you. Sometimes just writing about your feelings in your journal, or writing a letter to the person who hurt you, helps to release the feelings.
You will know when your feelings have fully released when you can easily let them go and move forward to make your life more of what you want it to be. Some feelings release quickly and some take more time.
Emotional healing is so very powerful! It can totally transform your life. One of the joys of my life is seeing people's lives transform before my eyes as a result of their commitment to emotional healing. It's so exciting to see who you become when you release your past programming to be truly yourself!
